Visit Berlin
I take pride in the words:"Ich bin ein Berliner"!
Helmholtzplatz
The local square for the perfect chill-out
Helmholtzplatz is a square in the district of Prenzlauer Berg. The square is renowned for its bars and cafes. Due to its popularity a lot of
young professionals also now call it their home. The neighbourhood surrounding Helmholzplatz has been extensively regenerated over the last
years. The area has a very relaxed atmosphere and is famous for its Cafes, Bars and Clubs. Among the new residents of Helmholtzplatz are now young designers from the East or West who regard it as the “place to be”.
Kulturbrauerei
The hip industrial monument in Berlin
The industrial monument of the former Schultheiss Brewery was refurbished in a very time-consuming and costly process, but now, has become
one of the most popular venues in Berlin. In addition, the place is well-known as a meeting place for cultural exchange all over the world.
Every year, the diverse and numerous events attract more than a million visitors to the historic building in the Schönhauser Allee.
The Kulturbrauerei combines modernity with the protection of historic sites which can be seen by the fact that off culture and business fuse
together. On the one hand, the location is a cultural oasis; on the other hand it is also an attractive place for those who want to open up a
business office. During the day creative service provider make the Kulturbrauerei a lively place. The residents who live in the area around
the Kulturbrauerei may enjoy daily shopping tours in the surrounding super markets. At the same time, they have the opportunity to attend
yoga-, fitness-, dance- or music courses or to get together for a little chat in one of the many cafes in this area.
The Wall
Where East meets West
"The Wall" or also more commonly regarded as "The Berlin Wall" in West Germany and to the rest of the world was known in the east of
Germany (former German Democratic Republic) as the "Anti-Fascist Protective Rampart", which separated West Germany from East Germany at
August 1963. Its intent was to restrict access between West Berlin and East Germany. Until its (almost) complete demolition, beginnng in
November 1989, the Berlin Wall was one of the most recognised symbols and harsh reminder of the Cold War. Many fell victim in trying to
defy its purpose.
